Alignment Tool
Alignment Tool is another module of Metalife2004 application by Metalife AG. It allows viewing and editing of ClustalW results and provides the basic functionality of applications like JalView and PFAAT. Users can align by hand the generated results and colorize them using specific algorithms. The drawing engine is highly optimized for handling long and heavy sequences.
Users can drag the sequence letters to adjust the alignment. The PID/BLOSUM62 consensus is calculated automatically, but SHIFT pressing keeps the pre-generated colors.
Sequences can be selected and colored individually. Menu options like Select All/Deselect All/Invert Selection are also available.
Alignment tool uses features of the latest Macromedia Flash Player 7 like Context Menu and Clipboard access.
